Southwest Builders established its operations in 1993 by Sam and Ali El-Husseini, both united in delivering “high quality housing at sensible prices”.

They have a proven reputation since establishing the company; those who have worked with them will state that everything they do is built on trust, value, pride and capability.

Southwest Builders appreciate that a co-operative and collaborative approach when working with clients, consultants and other stakeholders will always deliver high standard outcomes. This coupled with a healthy attitude for compliance with Industry driven legislation, codes and standards, results in the completion of project works on time, to budget and within realistic and sensible prices.

Sam El Husseini – Director

Sam has been responsible for many commercial, industrial and residential developments of the highest standard for over 27 years in the construction industry.

Sam’s work is characterised by a clear methodology and a strong work ethic whilst being technically demanding and performance focused. Sam’snatural ability to gain respect from his team ensures the highest and best outcomes on every project. Sam’s responsibilities at South West Builders include the following:

  • Strategic Planning;
  • Policy Development;
  • Ensure that adequate human, financial and technical resources are provided to meet the
    Client’s expectations;
  • Ensure that training and education programs are documented and implemented to inform and
    develop project staff;
  • Ensuring that the South West Builder’s documented management system is in compliance with
    the latest edition of all legislation, regulations, standards and codes;
  • Planning and conducting training and induction for all company subcontractors;
  • Manage the acquisition and dissemination of WHS and rehabilitation information to managers,
    supervisors and the work force;
  • Investigating accidents and incidents and reporting accidents and incidents to WorkCover;
  • Representing the company concerning all matters relating to WHS.
  • Deliver change across the operations of South West Builders as they are required;
  • Provide direction to individual staff members and explain how individual role are critical to the
    overall performance of South West Builders;
  • Improvements in any process or procedure adopted by South West Builders;
  • Monitor the functions of each project team;
  • Identifying the training needs of company personnel;
  • Development of pro-active Risk Management strategies;
  • Take an active role in promoting good management practices across the company

 

Ali Elhusseini – Construction Manager

Ali has been responsible for many prestigious residential developments of the highest caliber for over 25 years in the construction industry. He co-founded South West Builders with Sam in 1993. He has earned the enviable reputation of a specialist Site manager in medium to large scale residential projects. Ali’s work is characterised by a clear methodology and a strong work ethic whilst being technically demanding and performance focused.

Ali’s responsibilities at South West Builders include the following:

  • Ensure that adequate human resources are provided to meet the Client’s expectations;
  • Manage all building contractors required to deliver the project;
  • Planning and WHS induction for all company subcontractors;
  • Manages Workers health, safety and rehabilitation information and the work force;
  • Runs the day to day operation of the site;
  • Maintains adequate subcontractors to maintain Contract program;
  • Manages Company Quality assurance program
